Senvol to Exhibit, Speak at RAPID + TCT Conference

Posted By Senvol on Apr 23, 2018

Forth Worth, TX – April 23, 2018 – Senvol will be exhibiting and speaking at the annual RAPID + TCT Conference this week. RAPID + TCT is North America’s preeminent event for discovery, innovation, and networking in additive manufacturing, and hosts one of the most experienced and influential communities in additive manufacturing technologies.

The RAPID + TCT Conference will take place from April 23-26, 2018 at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Forth Worth, TX. Visit Senvol at Booth #242.

Senvol President Annie Wang will be speaking on “Applying Machine Learning to AM to Analyze the Relationships between Manufacturing Process & Material Performance.” Joining her for the presentation will be Tim Simpson, who is Professor of Engineering Design and Manufacturing at Penn State University and Co-Director of CIMP-3D. This presentation showcases an ongoing STTR project funded by the U.S. Navy. The technology that is being developed in the STTR is a data-driven machine learning algorithm with key capabilities that will enable a user to reduce the time, cost and resources required to characterize AM materials and AM processes. The algorithm being developed is material, machine and process agonistic. The Navy intends to use this algorithm to assist in developing statistically substantiated material properties in hopes of reducing conventional material characterization and testing that is needed to develop design allowables. The presentation will outline Senvol’s approach for using machine learning to investigate the relationships between process parameters, process signatures, material properties, and mechanical performance of metallic components.

Wang and Simpson’s presentation will be on Wednesday, April 25 from 10:45am-11:15am.
